Abstract

Diarrhea is a condition when defecation is more than three times a day, either in soft orliquid consistency. One of the symptoms is the increased body temperature orhyperthermia. Hyperthermia is a state of elevated body temperature above the normalrange due to thermoregulation failure. The solution for hyperthermia can be done bypharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment acts. One of non-pharmacologicalacts against heat reduction is to compress by using tepid sponge technique. The mainpurpose of explaining analysis of nursing care children with fulfillment base needs safecomfortable thermoregulation : hypertermia to case diarrhea in Aster RSUD Prof. Dr.Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. The result analysis of nursing problem taken by thewriters is hyperthermia. After nursing act was conducted by innovatig tepid sponge todiarrhea patient and 2x24 hour-observation was done in room Aster RSUD Prof. Dr.Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto, the result showed that tepid sponge technique was proveneffective to lower body temperature. It is recommended to use tepid sponge therapy forchildren having hypertermia along with diarrhea because it can avoid extreme bodytemperature increase, seizure, and unconsciousness. Abstract

Background: Diarrhea is caused by abnormal water and electrolyte transport in the intestine. Throughout the world there are approximately 500 million children suffering from diarrhea each year, and 20% of all children deaths living in developing countries are associated with diarrhea and dehydration. Disorders of fluid volume is one of the basic human physiological needs that must be met. If the patient loses much water and electrolytes, it is the symptoms of dehydration. Therefore, the writer tries to explain the problem about the lack of fluid volume of pediatric patients having diarrhea. Objective: The application of nursing care on children having diarrhea with a lack of fluid volume Discussion: Nursing problems that. arise are diarrhea related to infection process, hypertermi related to disease, nutrient imbalance less than body needs related to less food intake and lack of fluid volume related to loss of active fluid. Intervention and implementation: What is done is administration of 20 mg zinc diarrhea and L-Bio 1 g, monitoring diarrhea symptoms and temperature.
