Asus Eee Pc 1001p Recovery Disk Download
As with many types of PC computers, the Asus Eee line of netbooks may suffer glitches or operating problems from time to time. When this happens, restore the netbook to its factory settings to eliminate many minor computer problems. Some common computer problems easily fixed with a factory restore include missing files, slow operation, or even a computer virus causing other issues. You do not have to be a professional computer technician to perform minor repairs on your machine, including a recovery process. Keep in mind that a restore wipes your computer completely, so back up documents and files before proceeding.
Copy the entire contents of the Windows 7 disk to the flash drive. All of the hardware detects normally except the ASUS ACPI driver. Select your eee PC from the list, then download the ACPI drivers from underneath the “ATK” category.

Restore Manually
Some Asus notebooks feature a reset button. Before choosing this option, power down the computer and remove the power adapter, battery, as well as all cords and connectors. The reset button is a small, round hole on the netbook's underside, typically near a corner. The tip of a pen or paperclip works best.
Push the button and hold it for a few seconds to activate the reset. Replace the battery and the power cord, and turn the computer on as you normally would. The restoration is complete, and the netbook should be working properly. If this does not correct the problems, there could be a hard drive or motherboard issue, which can be costly to repair.
Restore Using the Recovery Partition
Use the Recovery Partition provided by your netbook to restore the computer in a couple of steps. If you use this option, protect your computer from any type of system failure, which ultimately causes more problems by connecting the netbook to the AC adapter. Push the computer's F9 button until the Recovery System window appears. Choose the option for Windows Setup and select Recovery. You should see a message disclosing that you will lose all your files in the process as the Recovery puts the machine back to its original factory settings. If you have backed up your files, click the box and commence with the Recovery.
The Recovery may take some time, up to half an hour. Once the system is finished recovering, a window appears telling you that the process is complete and the computer needs to restart to finish the process. Once your netbook restarts, access your computer as you normally would.
Restore from Disc
Use another option to restore your netbook by inserting the System Recovery disc into the drive to restore the settings. This only works for users that have access to an external disc drive. It is also a good solution for netbooks that do not have an included Reset button. As with the other two methods, you need to back up your files using an external hard drive or USB flash drive before beginning, because the reset deletes all your information, including documents, photos, and music files.
To use the disc, stop the Boot Booster setting first. The Boot Booster is an added feature that allows your computer to boot up fast, but this option needs to be non-functioning during a system restore. Press the F2 key on your netbook's keyboard until the BIOS menu appears. Select the option for Boot and click Disabled under Boot Booster. Save the selections and exit the menu.
Slide the Restore disc into the optical drive, and choose the option to boot up the disc from the drive. You should see an option to choose the partition to restore the system from. There is another option to recover the entire system. This is the recommended setting to choose that wipes the netbook back to its original settings, fixing any glitches and viruses. Once the disc is finished recovering your computer, restart your machine to activate the new settings and complete the process.
